As you all have heard this year Ventelo is delivering us a whopping 30Gb/sInternet connection. This will demand much more from the network than earlieryears. Luckily Cisco has been kind enough to borrow us some kickass equipment.

Og fortsatt ingen saftige detaljer rundt kantsvitsjene. :(

Damn that's some serious hardware. But I'm missing this shining beam of light at the pictures of the CRS-1. *g

But one thing does not work with things promised for this years TG. The uplink to the edge switches with 1G and 40G between the cores would be a little bit to small for the promised "gigabit to the people" (http://www.gathering.org/tg09/en/news/22/59/Gigabit-networking-to-the-people-in-2010) in 2010.

So does this mean every user has still the 100Mbit connection because it was not possible to get the hardware for a gigabit connection or is there a mistake in the drawing?

Don't get me wrong I'm completely satisfied with 100Mbit but I'm also a little bit curios about every detail of the network.
